Mylanthra Riverside Heritage Homestay is located at Perumpadappu, in Palluruthy area in Cochin. This Gold-grade homestay is a 75-year-old, well-maintained bungalow built of bricks, wooden ceilings and roofing, and the flooring is done with old clay tiles. Covering an area of 1.25 acres, it is full of trees. The breeze from the Vembanad Lake backwaters behind the homestay will enthrall you.

Basil Mylanthra, 60, a retired senior marketing executive of an MNC and Annie Basil, 56, housewife and an expert in Kerala-style cooking are the hosts. They are very cordial and friendly.

The homestay has Chinese fishing nets, which the guests can operate themselves. Imagine catching fish and cooking them for dinner! There is also a shrimp farm and beautiful paddy fields nearby. Take a walk in the countryside or a ride a bicycle thorough the village. Or the hosts can arrange for a mechanised country boat to visit the backwaters and near by islands.

The homestay is very close to Kumbalanghi, Kerala’s first model tourism village. You can visit Kumbalanghi, Fort Cochin and Vypeen from here. Houseboats tours from Alleppey backwaters can be arranged on advance requests from the guests (day cruise as well as day and night stay).
